The Story Behind this Story

I have been passionate about this project since the first semester of my first year at university. I was extremely eager to direct my own short film, and tremendously, I was selected to be one of the few directors to make their concept come to life, however that dream was quickly taken away from me when it was discovered that there was a miscount in the votes for director, and my position was revoked. 

I did not let this set back get to me though. Instead, I continued to work on the screenplay. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic that began in March of 2020, there were no production courses available in my second year, so I continued working on my script. In my third year of university, and my third year of writing the screenplay, I can say with all my heart I am dearly proud of how far it has came. This screenplay was three years in the making, and I finally had the opportunity to bring this long-term project to life.

Despite the pride I feel towards this screenplay and the personal journey I experienced while developing it, I am not naïve enough to believe that it is perfect, nor completely finished. I am always open to criticism and feedback. I have moved onto other projects since working on this screenplay, but I hope to one day return to it, improve upon it, and see what it can become!
